How Many Paid Holidays Do Japanese Wage-workers Take, in a Year?

An average Japanese wage-worker who works for a company that employs more than 30 people can get 18.4 days of paid holiday officially. But most of the workers do not take 18 holidays fully. The average worker takes 8.8 paid holidays in a year. The rate of taking an annual paid holiday is 47.6% in 2015.

The following shows the changes in the average paid holiday taken by wage-workers between 1984 and 2015. (in terms of companies that employ more than 30 people)
