Changes in the Number of Travelers in Japan, 2019-2020
The huge number of travelers vanished from the tourism market in 2020 April. According to Japan Tourism Agency, the number of tourists (who used hotels) in April was 9.7 million. The average number of hotel users was 50 million in 2019. So 80% of tourists have vanished from the market.

The situation of travelers from overseas is worse. Almost 98% of tourists disappeared from the market in April.
