Nikkei press estimated 2013 chocolate market share in Japan. According to it, the total amount 326 billion yen (2.7 billion dollars, 2.2 billion Euro) of chocolate were sold in 2013. 2013 sales were increased by 1.6% from 2012.
The top supplier was Meiji (30.7%), followed by Lotte, Glico, Morinaga, Nestlé. In 2012, Glico was in 4th place, but this time Glico overtook Morinaga and went up to 3rd place. Glico's main product Pocky was sold well.
