Pork Consumption by Year in Japan

Japanese people eat 11.8 kg of pork meat a year on average. In 1960, pork consumption per capita was only 1.1 kg. Pork consumption was increasing from 1960 to 2005 (12 kg in 2005). But these days the trend of pork consumption is flat.

Pork is relatively cheaper than beef in Japan, so pork consumption is almost double amount of beef consumption.
