How Many Dogs in Tokyo
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Social Welfare and Public Health conducted a survey about dogs and cats of pets. Based on the survey, Tokyo Metropolitan Government estimated there are 600,000 dogs in Tokyo. The survey was conducted in 2011 Oct. - 2012 Mar.
According to the survey, 16% of Tokyo households keep dogs (number of sample = 1472).
