Changes in the Prices of Scallops in Japan, 1980-2014
Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications monitors many kinds of food prices monthly. Scallop is one of the item which the ministry checks its price.

The data below show the changes in the price indexes of scallops between 1980 and 2014, if the price in 2010 is taken as 100. Recently the price is getting higher. It is said that operating costs of fishing vessels are increasing, because of soaring oil prices due to the recent weak yen.
