Changes in the Price of Room Air Conditioner in Japan, 1985-2014
Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications monitors the price of a room air conditioner monthly.
The data below show the changes in the price indexes of room air conditioner between 1985 and 2014, if the price in 2010 is taken as 100.
In terms of vacuum room air conditioners, the ministry adjusts the price index by "Hedonic price index" when they calculates the index. The following graph shows how much money you need, in order to get the same performance (same quality) room air conditioner between 1985 and 2014.
