Common Japanese high schools have their sport clubs. After the classroom lectures, students work out in clubs, for instance, baseball club or tennis club. Unfortunately every year some died during sports club activities. According to Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, 318 fatal or severely damaged accidents happened during 1998-2009. "Severely damaged" means the accident by which the student lost his/her working ability. In other words, the student cannot work any more, due to the accident.
Here is the breakdown of the cases by sport.

Age of junior high 1st grade is 12 or 13 years old.
Age of senior high 3rd grade is 17 or 18 years old.

I do not think bicycle club and boxing club are common clubs in high schools. The data of those two might not be stable. Those might be exceptional cases. However it is easy to imagine that boxing is dangerous.
