According to the national nutrition survey conducted by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, an average Japanese takes 260 grams carbohydrate a day. The following shows the trend in carbohydrate intake, 1975 to 2012. Carbohydrate intake is decreasing in a slow pace.
