Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Social Welfare and Public Health conducted a survey about dogs and cats of pets. In Tokyo, according to the survey
- Number of male dogs is almost same as the number of female dogs.
- Pet shop has the highest portion in the dog suppliers. 50% owners got dogs from pet shops.
- 89% owners have registered their dogs. In Japan, owners have to register their dogs to the local authority in order to prevent rabies.
The survey was conducted in 2011 Oct. - 2012 Mar.
