Train fare from Nagoya to Inuyama = 540 yen ($5.57 €4.22)
This is a report from Nagoya.
I visited The Little World Museum in Inuyama city, Aichi prefecture. To go to the museum, I took Meitetsu Inuyama line from Nagoya to Inuyama. Its one-way ticket cost 540 yen ($5.57 €4.22). From Inuyama station I took a bus. Its fare was 480 yen ($4.95 €3.75) for one way.
I think Meitetsu Nagoya station is the hardest station to get on the right train at. Meitetsu Nagoya has only 2 rails, one is for cars bound for north, the other is for south. But trains have various destinations like the following map. Those various trains are coming into the same platform, passengers have to figure out whether it will bring them to the right place or not.
According to Wikipedia, there are colored signs to tell passengers where they should wait on the platform;
Track for North
Blue Spot
for Ichinomiya and Gifu (via Sukaguchi, Shin-Kiyosu and Konomiya)
Rapid Ltd. Exp., Limited Express, Rapid Express, Express and Semi Express
Yellow Spot
for Sukaguchi and Konomiya
Local
There are only very few local trains for Gifu, so passengers should use local trains for Tsushima or transfer at Sukaguchi.
Green Spot
for Shin-Unuma, Inuyama, and Shin-Kani (via Iwakura and Konan)
Rapid Express, Express and Semi Express
Light Blue Spot
for Iwakura and Inuyama
Local
Purple Spot
for Tsushima, Saya and Yatomi (via Sukaguchi)
Rapid Express, Express, Semi Express and Local
Track for South
Blue Spot

Rapid Ltd. Exp., Limited Express, Rapid Express, Express and Semi Express

Local
Green Spot

It is too complicate for newbies.
