Today the election for Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly was held. I went to a nearby elementary school where was the voting station to vote my ballot. We do not have to pay any money for the election. But each candidate has to pay deposit for candidacy to the board of elections. In case of Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly, it is 600,000 yen ($6,382.98 €4,761.90). If candidate's number of votes obtained is shorter than the certain number, the board of elections will not return deposit money.
