According to Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun newspaper, 246.6 million useres access major eleven portal sites per month in Japan on average.
The biggest portal site in 2013 was Yahoo. Its market share was 25.5%. The second site was Google (24.7%). The third site, NTT (http://www.goo.ne.jp/ 12.4%) chased Yahoo and Google. But Big 2 got double-scored points of NTT's. It is hard to catch up Big 2. Microsoft (7.1%) and Biglobe (http://www.biglobe.ne.jp/ 6.5%) are 4th and 5th.
