Trend in Vitamin Intake, 1975 to 2012, in Japan

Vitamin intake of Japanese people is decreasing. The national nutrition survey conducted by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare reveals its trend.
The following figures and table present the changes in daily vitamin intake of a Japanese person.

Since 2001, the unit of vitamin A was changed.

In 2001, each data was dramatically changed. I thought the ministry changed the survey method or something. I checked the site of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, but it seems they did not change the method at that time. I could not figure out what was going on.
