Number of Libraries by Prefecture in Japan, 2011

Culture

As of 2011, there are 3274 libraries in Japan. More than 10% of them (394) are located in Tokyo metropolitan prefecture. Tokyo is the heaven of library.

Number of libraries per population

In terms of the number of libraries per population, Tokyo is in normal figure range. Residents in Kanagawa (next to Tokyo) and Aich are very unlucky, if they like books.
