What Vegetable Do Japanese Dislike?
An agricultural nursery company Takii reported their study of vegetables and home gardens. In the study, Takii asked their customers about favorite vegetables and unfavorite vegetables. According to their study, the most disliked vegetable was celery.
Here is the ranking of disliked vegetables in Japan, 2014.
No.9 tie Carrot
Kids do not like bitter taste of carrots. In Japan, carrots and peppers are typical vegetables that kids dislike. Carrot is a common vegetable in Japan.
No.9 Fava beans
Fava beans are common vegetables.
No.8 Pepper
Unfortunately, pepper is the king of vegetable that kids hate. Its bitter taste is the bad point of peppers. Pepper is a common vegetable.
No.7 Zucchini
We do not eat zucchinis much.
No.6 Cauliflower
Cauliflower is my favorite food. Some people do not like its feeling on the tongue, strange shape and pale color. Cauliflower is a common vegetable. But its price is relatively high. Consumption volume is not so high.

Many people love tomatoes. Tomato is one of the top 10 vegetable which people like. At the same time, many people do not like tomatoes.
No.4 Garland chrysanthemum
Garland chrysanthemum is used in sukiyaki. This vegetable is strongly scented, so some people do not like. We do not eat garland chrysanthemums much.

We do not eat this Middle Eastern vegetable much.

Bitter gourd is a common food of Okinawa region. People around Tokyo do not eat bitter gourds much.

People do not like its distinct odor. We do not eat celery much.
