Birth Rate by Prefecture in Japan

In June, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare released the birth rate of last year (2013). The data below shows the total fertility rate (birth rate) by prefecture in Japan in 2013. 

Okinawa has the highest rate 1.94. The second is 1.72 of Miyazaki. So Okinawa is outstanding. Both are in the southern area of Japan.

Tokyo has the lowest rate 1.13, followed by big cities and the northern regions.

Apparently the western regions have high numbers (= more birth).
